Fulfilling My Destiny*

NAZAH: White Linen and the Blood of Sprinkling

Everything that has led to where I am today has been a course set by God to fulfill my destiny. God sovereignly directed each of my steps, including my childhood education, attendance at the Air Force Academy, my military career, and the opportunity fo me to participate in groundbreaking research as part of S.T.U.R.P. (Shroud of Turin Research Project). I have been able to write four books on this subject, and have given many presentations concerning the Shroud. My calling as a pastor, and as an apostle, have led me to see the destiny that God has designed for me: to take this Gospel message across nations, and to the Jewish people, especially, in these last days.
Scripture tells us of the important ministry to the Jew, as well as the Gentile. The Book of Revelation gives a powerful prophetic picture of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists, sealed in a special calling to follow the Lamb of God wherever He goes:
"...Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel."
                                                                                                               Rev. 7:4
In the verses that follow the one above, Revelation tells us that of the 144,000, 12,000 will come out of each tribe of Israel.
Then we are shown the worship in heaven which includes a great multitude of those from all nations, kindred, people and tongues, wearing white robes. This multitude in heavenly worship is described as those who came out of great tribulation, having made their robes white by washing them in the blood of the Lamb (v. 9-14). We are seeing the beginning of this time of great tribulation, with believers being persecuted and martyred in many nations today. Not only are Christians seeing an increase in this persecution, but anti-Semitism, and anti-Israel hostility has risen greatly as well. We are living in a time when the prophecy of Zechariah is fulfilled saying that Jerusalem will become a cup of trembling, and a burdensome stone for all people., but the LORD will come to the defense of Israel (Zech. 12). Zechariah 2:8 proclaims that the LORD will punish those nations who harm Israel, "for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye."
God has not forgotten His covenant promise that all of Israel shall be saved (Rom. 11:25-27). The Jew has been temporarily blinded to the Gospel so that the Gentiles may come in, according to Paul. As the time of the Gentiles is now fulfilled, salvation is once again revealed to the Jews:
"And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."   Zech. 12:10
The image of the crucified and resurrected Christ miraculously revealed on the Shroud of Turin is a timely witness and ministry to the Jews, as was prophesied, who will "look upon me whom they have pierced".
I feel very strongly that this is my destiny in God-to bring this witness to the Jew, and also to the Gentile. The God-led events of my life have all culminated in this purpose, and for this time.
I ask you to view this video, and pray about what you can do to support and be apart of this ministry, which is an end time fulfillment of prophecy.

Rise, Shine, and Redeem the Time*

RISE, SHINE, AND REDEEM THE TIME!

When we were children, our parents might have awakened us in the morning by saying, "Rise and shine, time to get up!". As we see the end time signs pointing to the return of Christ, the Word of God also cries out the same thing to the Church, because the Church is sleeping. Jesus spoke a parable of ten virgins who were sleeping when the sudden call of the bridegroom came (Mt. 25:1-10). Five of the virgins were wise: they had lamps filled with oil. They had vessels of extra oil, and the lamp wicks were trimmed and ready for lighting. They had properly prepared for the arrival of the bridegroom, though they did not know exactly when that would be. Five of the virgins were foolish: they had lamps, but they had no oil for their lamps. All ten had something in common though. They were all asleep when the call that the bridegroom had arrived went forth at midnight. The wise virgins awoke and being prepared, were able to go immediately to meet the bridegroom and to enter the wedding with him, and the door was shut. The five foolish tried to borrow oil from the wise ones, but were told that they must go out and buy their own oil at this last minute. By the time the five foolish virgins returned with the necessary oil for their lamps, the bridegroom had come and left. When they tried to get into the wedding, asking the bridegroom to open for them, He answered,"Verily I say unto you, I know you not." Jesus concluded the parable by warning, "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
Scripture tells us that after this prophetically timed point, the only way to enter will be as martyrs.
As Jesus was able to identify those whom He knows by their readiness and preparation for His coming, Paul taught that we can identify the readiness of the Church by their "shine" of preparation also, as the wrath of God becomes imminent for those who are the "children of disobedience" (Eph. 5:6-17). He even tells us not to walk as fools but as wise. The children of disobedience are those who fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness. However, he says, we are light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Walking in the light means that not only do we not fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but we reprove them:
"But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light."  (v. 13-14).
Paul wrote that by shining as light in this manner, we are "redeeming the time, for the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." (v. 16-17). In teaching this wisdom concerning being light in darkness, Paul was referring to the prophecy of Isaiah which said,
"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."   Isa. 60:1-3
Jesus prayed to the Father that we would have the same glory that He had in the Father from the beginning. We can understand then why Jesus said that He, as the Bridegroom, did not know those who did not possess this light which is with those who love Him, and are prepared, waiting and looking for His appearing. It is not a light that you can obtain from others. It must come with the preparedness found in the relationship we have with the Light of the World, Jesus. This glory light in us is at its most important when the darkness has come to cover the earth, as we are seeing now. Knowing these signs of the times, Paul urges:
"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light."
                                                                                                      Rom. 13:11-12
Jesus told His generation that they did not know the signs of the times. Is the Church the same way? If not, then it is time to wake up, rise, and shine. Paul wrote that he should not have to tell the Church of the times and the seasons, because they should already know this (1 Thess. 5:1-6). He wrote again:
"Ye are all children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep, sleep in the night..."  v. 4-7
Paul wrote again of "redeeming the time"  by our speech and walk of wisdom toward them that are without (Col. 4:2-6):
"Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man."  v. 6
Shining as light, and redeeming the time requires us to speak.
Peter wrote that Noah was a "preacher of righteousness" placed in the middle of corruption and evil before the bringing of the flood upon the world of the ungodly. Noah and his family were delivered out before the destruction. In the same manner, Lot was living in Sodom, vexed in his soul by the unlawful deeds of those around him. The LORD delivered him out of the area before the overthrow with ashes of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha. The overthrow of these cities continues to serve Him as an example to those who follow after wickedness, and the deliverance of Noah and Lot, and their families, continues to serve as an example of the preservation of those of light who shined in the midst of the works of darkness. Peter warned not to accept the false teachings that would try to convince you otherwise (2 Pet. 2:1-9).
Again and again, the Word of God calls to the Church to rise, shine, and redeem the time, especially as we see the signs of the times all around us.

With Paul at Corinth*

Ancient Corinth, at the time of Paul's ministry of the Gospel, was a large, rich port city. Sailors and merchants traveled to and from Corinth from every nation of the world. This meant that travelers who heard the Gospel at Corinth could carry it to their own nation upon their return. However, Corinth was also a city of corruption, immorality and heathen religion. The Temple of Aphrodite was located in Corinth, with its 1,000 temple prostitutes used in its worship of the goddess.
In many ways, the conditions of Corinth mirror our own times, especially in our great cities like New York. At Corinth, Paul taught important truths regarding men's acceptance of the Gospel that are very valuable to us today as we deal with our modern Corinths.
In the first chapter of Corinthians, Paul reveals that man's wisdom cannot accept the Gospel of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection:
"For the preaching of the cross to them that perish is foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God...For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God...hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence."  1 Cor. 1:18-29 (excerpt)
Paul goes on to say that the Gospel is not recognized by the wisdom or powers of this world (1 Cor. 2:6). The Gospel was conceived and exists in the hidden wisdom of God:
"But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (v. 7-9).
If it is impossible for man to receive the Gospel by their eyes, ears, or understanding, how then can men receive and believe the Gospel? First of all, Paul told us in our beginning scriptures, that the Gospel is revealed to them that are called. Paul also continued to explain:
"But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God...Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's  wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."  1 Cor. 2:1-13 (excerpt)
The Gospel of Salvation is received spiritually, by a work of the Holy Spirit, not by a work of the understand or wisdom of men.
Paul is revealing to us what the prophet Isaiah meant when he prophesied this same truth:
"But since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, besides thee, what he (God) hath prepared for him that waiteth for him."  Isa. 64:4
The prophets looked into this spiritual mystery of salvation, revealed to them by the Spirit of God, which would be achieved through the suffering, humiliation, and death of a Servant. It is by this same Spirit that this truth is revealed to those who will receive as truth what man calls foolishness.
Psalm 22, written by David centuries before the birth of Christ, revealed the physical characteristics of a crucifixion that completely matches the details of what was recorded in the Gospels regarding the death of Jesus:
  • "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
  • "All they that see me laugh to scorn...saying, "He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him."
  • "...all my bones are out of joint: my heart...is melted in the midst of my bowels...my tongue cleaveth to my jaws...the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet."
  • "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."
Also revealed by the Holy Spirit to the prophet Zechariah was this glimpse of the Gospel:
  • "And I will pour upon  the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."  Zech. 12:10
  • "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."  Zech. 13:6
Our own nation, like Corinth of old, is filled with corruption and wickedness. The Church in the midst of it, is teaching man's wisdom, and not the Gospel. Sadly, one minister of a large church referred disparagingly in his pulpit to the Gospel as "the Gospel of gore", and turned away from teaching it. He preferred to teach instead, what men considered attractive and preferable to hear on a Sunday morning.
Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and that more abundantly." Life and abundance in Christ is found in the mystery wisdom hidden in God from the beginning, which can only be revealed in the spirit, by the Holy Spirit.
Choose this day whom you will serve- the wisdom of men, or the wisdom of God, which is effective unto salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Groundhog Day 2020*

Today is Groundhog Day. Many lightheartedly look to the groundhog to predict whether winter will continue, or whether we will experience an early spring. This year, the groundhog did not see his shadow, so an early spring is predicted.
There was a 1993 movie starring Bill Murray titled "Groundhog Day", about a man who experiences a strange phenomenon. When he wakes up every morning, he finds that he must relive the same day, Groundhog Day, over and over again.
Are we doing the same: doing the same thing, but expecting a different result?
Peter prophesied that as Christ's return and His day of judgment draws near, cynical men will say that although God's judgment has been written of, nothing has changed since the beginning, all remains the same, and they don't expect that to change (2 Pet. 3:3-5).
However, God has promised in His Word that all things will not remain the same. He will change even the most common experiences shared among men. Jesus taught of these changes in what we refer to as the Sermon on the Mount, or the Beatitudes (Mt. 5:1-12).
Among those changes of condition, Jesus taught:
The poor in spirit (humble before God) are blessed and will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Those who mourn are blessed, and will be comforted.
All of us experience the death of a loved one, but how do we deal with it?
Isaiah prophesied about this miraculous change in our common circumstances and experiences also, including those who mourn. These are the changes promised by the LORD that Isaiah chronicled, and that Jesus centuries later preached in the synagogue. When Jesus preached it (portion indicated in red lettering), He also announced its fulfillment that day in Him:
"The Spirit of the LORD God is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, the he might be glorified."
                                                                                                       Isa. 61:1-3
All of these miraculous 180 degree changes taking place in the common human condition prophesied by Isaiah and preached by Jesus, including the overwhelming grief experienced by those who mourn, is so that the LORD might be glorified. We are not here to daily repeat the routine of eating, working, sleeping, over and over. Each of us is here with a purpose.
In another place, Jesus told his disciples that when He left, they would be filled with sorrow, with weeping and lamenting. However, their sorrow would be turned into joy, like a woman who sorrows through labor, but rejoices as she holds the child she has given birth to. All of her previous travail and sorrow is forgotten as she experiences that overwhelming joy (Jn. 16:19-21).
Isaiah wrote again about the transformation from the condition of darkness in the world, by the glory light of the LORD seen upon us at our rising and shining (Isa. 60:1-2):
"Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise...and the days of thy mourning shall be ended....that I may be glorified....I the LORD will hasten it in his time."  Isa. 60:18-22
The LORD is not constrained within time, but He lives outside of time. As Peter wrote, "...one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."  (2 Pet. 3:8). The signs all tell us that the day draws near.
As Revelation prophesies regarding the coming down from heaven of the New Jerusalem, and the changes this brings to men:
"...Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away...And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."   Rev 21:1-4 (part.), 27
Again, as to timing, Jesus said, "And behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book." (Rev. 22:7), and in another place the angel proclaimed, "...there should be time no longer." (Rev. 10:6).
Many men say that things never change, but the LORD has made the promised to us that everything will change.
