I am convinced that we are living in the time of the coming of our Lord. I pray that the church is prepared. Second Timothy says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." (2 Tim. 2:15-16). If we don't know the Word of God, then all else is profane babblings that lead to ungodliness. The Word and voice of God and Christ impact our everlasting life. Jesus said, "...he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life...The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live...for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (Jn. 5:24-29, excerpt). Jesus told His listeners strongly that they did not have the Father's Word abinding in them because they did not believe the one that the Father had sent to them, Himself. He said, "Searh the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (v. 38-39). Jesus said that Moses would accuse them, because his writings testify of Jesus, whom they refused to believe. Jesus observed a truth about them. He said that while they wouldn't believe or accept one, such as Himself, sent from God, and of whom God has testified, they would receive any other man who testifies of himself, rather than of Christ or the Father (v. 43-47). Today also, many reject God and His Word, but believe anything man tells them. The Prophet Zephaniah received the Word of the LORD concerning the corruption and shamelessness of Jerusalem. He called it filthy, polluted, an oppressive city and unashamed (Zeph. 3). He wrote, "She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God (v. 2). Her princes, her judges, and her prophets were unjust and treacherous. Of those who served in the house of the LORD, God said, "...her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law." (v. 3-4). Anyone searching and studying the scriptures would also have seen the serious consequences brought to Judah because of their worship of the false god, Baal: "And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I have commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin." (
Jer. 32:35). Many of our own children have been offered to this false god as well, as abortion became the law of the land almost fifty years ago. Regarding this offering of children in Judah at the time of the prophet, the LORD called it an abomination that He never imagined, and that the sin weighed against the whole nation. However, after the LORD's prophecy of a judgment of desolation for their corruption, and refusal to hear the voice of the LORD, the LORD brought this promise to Judah also: "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent." (v. 9). We will see more about the restoration of the Hebrew language later. Zephaniah also prophesied the command of the LORD to the daughter of Zion and the daughter of Jerusalem to sing, be glad and rejoice with all their heart, because the LORD, the king of Israel, promised to restore Israel, and dwell within her midst: "...thou shalt not see evil any more...The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing...At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all the people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD." (v. 14-20). We have seen Israel restored as a nation after almost 2,000 years. The world would have never expected the nation of Israel to rise again from the ashes of history, but for those who searched and studied the scriptures, they knew that the prophets made clear the intention of the LORD to do so. Also the Hebrew language, the pure language, has been restored as prophesied by Zephaniah. Hebrew is the only language that has been brought back from the dead. For those who study the scriptures, looking into the original Hebrew word meanings, and even the meanings of the individual Hebrew letters as well, offers a wealth of understanding into the depth of the Word of God. The prophet Jeremiah also prophesied the restoration and revival of Israel, as Zephaniah did, even while the Babylonian army was at the wall of Jerusalem. The LORD said, "Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built..For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God." (Jer. 31:4-6). The individual Hebrew letters that make up the word "mount" used above are beth and reysh, which have the meaning when combined "the revelation of the Highest". The individual Hebrew letters used in the name Ephraim combine to mean, "The Head, or Adonai, is the beginning, the mouth that opens the door to the cross". This is the revelation of the Highest found in the phrase "mount Ephraim" in these verses above. In this revelation the LORD also said, "I will surely have mercy upon him" (Ephraim my dear son). Not only does the LORD promise to restore Israel, but to also establish a new covenant with them: "Behold the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers...which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." (Jer. 31:31-33). The written Word was to become a living, inward work in us, to become part of our substance. Also, as part of this new covenant the LORD prophesied through Jeremiah, "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, , from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." (v. 34). Again we see the results of the new covenant, which was accomplished by the blood of Jesus, in the forgiveness of our iniquity and the forgetting of our sins. Again a Word of comfort and hope went forth from the LORD to His people: "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins." (Ia. 40:1-2). The LORD's Word is not finished with Israel, but here promises to bring them to a new level of comfort, completion and peace in Him. This weekend the Second Passover took place, as allowed in scripture, for those who were unable to participate in last month's Passover because they were defiled or a journey away. God gives a second chance to come to His table for those who have been defiled, or have found themselves far away from God and our Passover Lamb, Jesus. This weekend we are also seeing another unusual sign involving a blood moon lunar eclipse. As a prophesied part of the new covenant, the Word is meant to dwell in our inward parts, and in our hearts. Mother's Day 2022*

We, at Everlasting Covenant have always had very special Mother's Days. God worked, and still works, many miracles through, and on behalf of, mothers. The first mention of "mother" is found in Genesis: "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living." (Gen. 3:20). The three pictographic Hebrew letters that make up the name "Eve" mean fence, peg, covenant: or protection, secure, unbreakable promise. The root word meaning is "to breathe, bring forth (declare or show)". God breathed into Adam's nostrils to create a living soul. The mother is the bond of the family, who fences and secures it. The woman gives life, and Yeshua, Jesus, is called "a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45). Later, we see that Jacob's first wife, Leah, although she was unloved, bore children, while Rachel, Jaacob's much-loved second wife, was barren (Gen. 29:31). However, as Rachel cried to the LORD, He heard and answered her: "And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb." (Gen. 30:22). God is the One who opens the womb. We believers in Christ have been called to bring forth spiritual life in the earth. It is the seed of the Word that we plant. God brought forth living things whose seed was in itself, according to Genesis. The man has seed, but the woman is necessary to bring it forth. Society and so-called science are trying to change this rule of creation in these last days. It is God's creative will, however, concerning His people: "Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle." (Deut. 7:14). Male and female created He them, although the world says differently. It was considered a reproach among men when a woman could not bear children, although the LORD said that barrenness could be present in either the male or female. Faced with this reproach for years, a priest's wife, Elizabeth, who was barren, conceived a child in her old age, who would be John the Baptist. Elizabeth had known that it was the Lord who had dealt with her (Lk. 1:24-25, 36). Six months later, the angel Gabriel would inform Mary, an unmarried virgin, that she also, like her cousin Elizabeth, would conceive a child. Even though her circumstances would speak otherwise, the angel assured her that the Holy Spirit would come upon her, and the power of the Highest would overshadow her, and she would conceive as a result. The holy thing born, the angel said, would be called the Son of God (Lk. 1:35). The Holy Spirit gives us the power to conceive and bring forth life, both physical and spiritual life. After His resurrection, Jesus stood in the midst of His disciples, and began to open their understanding of the Law of Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms, which He had fulfilled with His suffering and resurrection. He further instructed them, because they were witnesses to these things, to preach repentance and the remission of sins to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem (Lk. 24:44-47). Jesus added: "And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be indued with power from on high." (v. 49). The prophet Daniel also wrote about the people who know their God and do great exploits. Of this same truth, the Apostle Peter wrote of the divine power that has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness. This same divine power, according to the precious promises which God has given us, enables us to be partakers of the divine nature. About the importance of having the characteristics of this divine nature he wrote: "...if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 1:1-8, excerpt). Everything concerning our walk of faith incorporates the fruitfulness of motherhood: "...Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren, that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath a husband." (Gal. 4:26-27, see also Isa. 54:1). The fruitfulness associated with motherhood is such a foundational truth that even evil powers steal it to spread wickedness in the earth, and in the spirit. One of the powers of wickedness in the end times is called the Whore of Babylon, who will be subjected to the judgment of God. She encompasses such a large territory that she is described as sitting upon many waters, or peoples. She has committed fornication with kings, and all of the inhabitants of the earth have gotten drunk on the wine she has given to them. The scarlet colored beast that she sits upon is full of blasphemies. She is arrayed like royalty in purple and scarlet, and adorned in wealth with gold and precious jewels. She holds a cup in her hand "full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." (Rev. 17:1-5). She is a mother of harlots like herself, so she will bear fruit, although it is wicked fruit, and abominations. The drunkenness associated with her and those who partake with her, is not the drunkenness of wine as we know it, but it is drunkenness with the blood of the saints, and their martyrdom. She is associated with a city that sits upon seven hills. Those who wonder (with admiration) at her and the beast from the pit that she rides upon, are those "whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is." (v. 8). The kings who are given power to rule by the Beast will make war against the Lamb, the King of Kings, and those with Him, but He shall overcome them (v. 13-14). The people and nations who are under the power of the Beast spoken of, accomplish God's purpose, whether they know it or not: "For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled." (v. 17). It is time for the Chruch to bring forth godly fruit and life, by the power of the Holy Spirit, given to those who believe Christ and will receive the Spirit promised by God. Church traditions, and the traditions and doctrines of men, don't bring forth that kind of life, but only the Life-Giving Spirit, Jesus. The Missing Weapons of Our Warfare*

Recent events have created a discussion about weaponry: nuclear weapons that are being developed by nations, and other weapons needed to fight or defend current wars such as in the Ukraine, but there are also spiritual weapons that are necessary here and now for use by believers in the spiritual warfare that is all around us. We are not using the right weapons in our spiritual warfare, and we are therefore not being effective. As Jesus described the condition of the kingdom of God that would be found before His return, He commented that only half of those who were supposed to attend the wedding of the Bridegroom were prepared, having oil for their lamps. He called this half, "wise", and the unprepared, He called "foolish". All of them, however, were found to be asleep when the moment of the Bridegroom's arrival came (Mt. 25:1-5). In our warfare, we are often reacting to situations that have already occurred, like trying to close the barn door after the horses have already gotten loose. Paul also saw the problem of spiritual slumber in the Church writing: "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light..." (Rom. 13:11-12). We are now even closer to the moment of Christ's return than Paul was at the time he wrote this. We need to make a change. Paul refers to Isaiah in telling the Church: "...Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." (Eph. 5:14-17). Again there is a call to the Church to wake up, even from being dead. Paul also described the weapons of warfare that we may be neglecting: "Speaking to yourselves in songs and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all things unto God..." (v. 19-20). Praise is a powerful weapon in the hands of the believer. Scripture says that God is enthroned, or inhabits, the praises of His people. (Ps. 22:3). How often, rather than giving thanks to God in the middle of trying circumstances, we begin complaining instead? God has given us promises that make provision for us through every trial, and we should be remembering those promises before God with thanks. The Israelites continually murmured and complained in the wilderness despite the miraculous provision and deliverance of God. We have those great promises combined with thanksgiving to Him as part of the weapons of our warfare, but are we using them? Paul told us to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, but often, we rely upon our own strength and understanding instead. Paul wrote that each believer has access to powerful spiritual armor, but we must put it on. This armor is the only thing that can keep us standing in the evil day, such as exists today. It is necessary to put on this spiritual armor because our enemies are not flesh and blood, but they are principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6:10-13). This armor consists of having our loins girded about with truth, against this age of lies and even the father of lies, the devil; having on the breastplate of righteousness at a time when all, especially those in political, religious and business leadership, have been found unrighteous; having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace when peace in this world is so rare; taking up the shield of faith which quenches the fiery darts of the enemy, especially when faith and the name of Jesus are mocked as they are now; the helmet of salvation, the hope and assurance of which sustains us through every threat and trouble; and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, which is the truth that never fails us (v. 14-17). Putting on this armor, Paul wrote that we are to be praying always in the Spirit, and watching - not sleeping and unprepared (v. 18). Paul again refers to the armor of God in the warfare of the believer, whom he says are "the children of light" (1 Thess. 5:5-8). He again wrote "...let us not sleep as do others; but let us watch and be sober." All of these things are given to us by God because "He hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ..." (v. 9). Paul wrote, "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (v. 16-21). He said that we were to abstain from all appearance of evil (v. 22), and to flee evil things, and rather to follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness (1 Tim. 6:11). These things are all part of "fighting the good fight" and laying hold of eternal life (v. 12). The Apostle James also wrote of the great value of prayer in all things, including spiritual warfare: "Is any among you afflicted (meaning to suffer evils, hardships, and troubles)? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:13-16). As a ministry, we have always prayed for those who have made requests, and we have sent prayer cloths to minister to those who were at a distance. We have received many miracle testimonies as a result of this. The church and believers in general, however, have been using the wrong weapons in warfare. Our warfare is not won by anger, or through political powers, but we and our nation are healed by prayer, waking from spiritual slumber, watching, pursuing righteousness and godliness. The LORD promised: "If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Putting It All Together*

Looking at the world, we are seeing events play out, such as the rise of Russian aggression and nuclear threats among the nations, that coincide with prophesied signs of the end times, and Christ's return. There is a new documentary available titled, "Who Can He Be?", which examines the Shroud of Turin and the work of the original STURP research on the Shroud. The question of "Who Can He Be?" becomes the most important question in these times, and will help us to put together the whole picture. Who He is, and what's next on the prophetic timetable of God will impact the whole earth. Even believers often have a limited idea of who Christ is. Scripture brings us this revelation: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (Jn. 1:1-3, see also Gen. 1:1). Jesus was always with God and He was the Word spoken that created all things. In the same way, Christ plays the principal role in the current events and future events of the world, and beyond. We also play a role living in our knowledge of God through these events: "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust:" (2 Pet. 1:2-4). Knowing Christ in the fulness that God has provided for us, changes our natures, even to becoming partakers of the divine nature, and escaping the corruption of the world, and the consequences of that corruption. Those who are not changed by knowledge of Christ in such a way (v. 5-8), remain blind and cannot see into far things, and cannot remember the purging of old sins in themselves done by Christ (v. 9). Part of the knowledge of Christ that is necessary for our future pertains to prophecy, and the understanding of those prophetic promises that have been given to us. These prophecies and commandments were not given by men, but by God through the holy prophets, and through the apostles (2 Pet. 3:1-2). Among these prophecies of God to us are those which pertain to a coming judgment by fire upon the earth, and of Christ's sudden, and to some, unexpected return. Scripture tells us that there will be those who scoff at these prophecies: "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire (see also v. 10-12) against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (v. 3-7). These scoffers even deny what we already know - that God had previously judged the earth (by water) in Noah's flood. They purposely decide not to believe that God will judge the earth again, although He has promised to do so. Peter warned us not to be ignorant of the fact that while God views time differently than we do, He nevertheless has a very precise timetable for these things, and that timetable puts us very close to the day of judgment (v. 8). To the Lord, a day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day. The Lord, Peter wrote: "...is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (v. 9). Our knowledge of the Lord also goes beyond the day of judgment. Peter wrote that our knowledge should result in our looking forward to His prophetic guarantee of a new heaven and a new earth. (v. 13). In having the knowledge of these things, and Who He is, our behavior should be ruled by this knowledge into being holy and godly (v. 11). Hosea also gave us prophetic knowledge of the Lord's view of the timing of events: "Come and let us return unto the LORD...After two days he will revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain; as the latter and former rain unto the earth." (Hos. 6:1-3). As the morning, and the rains, the timing is set. Again, our following after knowledge of the LORD affects how we will live through the moving of the LORD, whether in godliness or ungodliness, with understanding or willful ignorance, with preparation, or in being unprepared. We, in general, have not consistently been walking in His sight - we need to prepare for the third day, because it is sure to come. Paul wrote that we are not to be ignorant of the fact that in the day of the coming of the Lord, the dead in Christ will be raised, and we who are alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, which is also known as The Rapture (see 1 Thess. 4:13-17). In getting the answer to the question, "Who Can He Be?", we have seen that the knowledge of Christ stretches from the beginning, to the ending, and beyond to a new beginning. He has revealed who He is to man prophetically in manners that could not have been anticipated, or engineered by men. In Psalm 22, written by David approximately one thousand years before the birth of Christ, Christ revealed Himself to David in crucifixion details that were later described in the gospel accounts. At the time that David wrote the Psalm, crucifixion as a form of execution had not yet been invented by the Persians. Yet Christ revealed Himself in this Psalm saying, "I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels...the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet...They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture..." V. 14-18). However, through this terrible experience, the prophetically revealed Christ declares that He trusts in the LORD to help Him, and that He will praise the LORD, and declare His name (YHWH - "Behold the hand; Behold the nail"). This is the transforming of the character of others based upon what has happened to Him: "The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations...They shall come and declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this." (v. 26-31). The knowledge of "Who can He Be?" is a transformative and necessary knowledge as we prepare ourselves for these end times, God's judgment upon the earth, and the Day of Christ's return. *Based on Dr. Kenneth E. The Resurrection And The Life*

Back in 1966, The New York Times had a headline that read, "God is Dead...". Just this Passover and Resurrection weekend, the same newspaper ran an op-ed piece suggesting, "Lets get rid of God". We live in times when we are witnessing the end time signs prophesied in scripture, such as wars and pestilence, causing such great damage to the human race. The resurrection of Christ is not only the central truth of Christianity, but of the Bible in its entirety. Paul wrote: "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins...But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become firstfruits of them that slept." (1 Cor. 15:17, 20). Scripture holds that not only did Christ rise, but His rising causes all who believe to rise with Him. From the beginning, in Gen. 1:1, scripture has borne witness to the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. Genesis 1 begins with the expression, "In the beginning God...". The Hebrew word for "beginning" is Bareshiet. In the pictographic Hebrew letters used to construct this word, bareshiet means: "the Son crushed, His hand upon the cross". "God" as translated in this same verse is written as Elohim Aleph-Tav in Hebrew, or "God, the beginning and the end, the first and the last". This is how Jesus refers to Himself in the Book of Revelation (see Rev. 1:8, 17, Rev. 22:13), and also as translated into the Greek letters, Alpha and Omega. The LORD revealed His unpronounceable name to Moses as YHWH, or I AM THAT I AM (Ex. 3:13-14). Again, the pictographic letters of the Name in the ancient Hebrew would have the meaning: "Behold the hand, behold the nail". The Lord has brought back the pure language (Zeph. 3:9), Hebrew, for a reason in these end times. There are clear prophecies that specifically point us not only to Messiah, but Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah. His prophesied suffering and death are identifiers to us. Psalm 22, written by David, gives the details of crucifixion, specifically Christ's crucifixion as described in the gospel accounts, many hundreds of years before crucifixion was invented as a means of execution. Isaiah 50:6, and 53:9 not only describe the purpose and details of Christ's death, but in Isa. 52, a prophecy is given regarding physical evidence of the event that would survive afterwards: "As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men. So shall he sprinkle (Nazah) many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider." (Isa. 52:14-15). Paul was involved in an example of this very thing several years after the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, as he testified before a king (Acts 26:1-28). As the scriptures prophesy about Judah and Jerusalem being the center of turmoil, the Prophet Zehariah also wrote: "...and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." (Zech. 12:10). I am convinced that the physical evidence that people are prophesied to see is the Shroud of Turin. All of the details found on the Shroud confirm the gospel accounts of the physical injuries suffered by Jesus, as well as His condition just after death. Having personally examined the Shroud, and also having participated in the many tests that were done on the Shroud as part of the original STURP team that traveled to Turin, Italy, I am very familiar with the results and observations. While there is blood on the Shroud, there is no evidence of paint or dyes present. No brush strokes exist on the Shroud. Only the very top fibers of the threads of the linen Shroud are dehydrated and discolored, creating the image of a scourged, beaten and crucified Middle-Eastern Jewish Man between the ages of 30-35. The evidence is on the Shroud that the Man wore phylacteries on His head and arm, in accordance with Jewish practice. It was not Jewish burial custom to wrap a body like a mummy, as was done by the Egyptians, but to lay the body on a length of fabric, and then fold and lay the fabric over the head and top of the body. The position of the image on the Shroud reflects this Jewish burial custom. The pollen on the Shroud reflects plants found in Jerusalem, and from plants found where the Shroud was later known to have been transported. The image threads of the Shroud are stable both in water, and chemicals. The image on the Shroud is a negative image, and can only be seen as a positive image when a photo is taken of it. The image is a three dimensional image. Although Carbon-14 tests done afterward by a different group purported to show that the Shroud dated from the middle ages, later examination of the results by experts (Ray Rogers and others) showed that the fibers that were initially C-14 tested were cotton fibers, and not linen. It was then concluded that the fibers taken for the original testing were taken from an area of the Shroud that had been repaired later in history using cotton thread. For these reasons and more, I believe that the Shroud is genuine evidence of the resurrection, and I would be remiss not to tell others, especially in these end times. The Shroud, as someone once said, is "God's love letter in linen to all mankind". There is a link on my Facebook page (see Kenneth E. As I have said many times, the Shroud of Turin is not the basis of my faith in Jesus Christ, but it is a confirmation of the truth of the gospels, particularly the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Palm Sunday - A Last Days Perspective*

Palm Sunday is not just a past event that happened in Jerusalem, or a church event when you receive a palm branch. It is an Old Testament prophetic event that was foretold by the Prophet Zechariah, a past New Testament event fulfilled by Jesus in His entrance into Jerusalem before His crucifixion on Passover, a current event, as it affects our hearts and our salvation today, and it is an event that has a meaning in the last days, as we will see. This is the prophecy of Zechariah: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." (Zech. 9:9). We will see that this prophecy was fulfilled exactly as Jesus came into Jerusalem. However, before this event, Jesus had something to teach about the salvation that He was bringing. Someone asked Him, "Lord, are there few that be saved?" Jewsus answered that many will seek to enter in, but will not be able. He also said, "Strive to enter in at the strait gate (one of the eight gates into the city of Jerusalem, also known as the Mercy Gate, the Golden Gate, the Beautiful Gate, and the easternmost gate)." The Greek word for "strait" is stenos/histemi, meaning "narrowed from obstacles/to stand, to be kept intact, to escape in safety, to cause a person to keep his place". Jesus warned that once the master closes this door of entrance, anyone seeking to come in afterwards will be told "I know you not whence you are." (Lk. 13:22-25). Even if they claim to have eaten with Him, and heard His teaching, if they have not come through that strait gate, the only way of mercy and salvation, they will not be able to enter in, but are thrust out. "And behold, there are last which shall be first, and first which shall be last." (v. 26-30). Jesus added that every prophet perished in Jerusalem. Jerusalem, which should have known their God, stoned the prophets that were sent to them. Jesus, who knew He also would face His death in Jerusalem, said, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not? Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." (v. 33-35). Jerusalem, the city of the temple of God, refused the protection of the Savior. Before entering Jerusalem, Jesus stopped at Bethphage, and instructed His disciples to enter into the village, and they would find an ass and colt tied. They were to tell the owner that the master had need of them, and the owner would send them immediately. All of this was done to fulfill what the prophet Zechariah prophesied above. Garments and branches were spread on the road, and multitudes went before and behind Jesus crying, "...Hosanna to the Son od David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest." (Mt. 21:1-9). Although this is a prophetically identifying cry, the question was asked, "Who is this?" The answer was given, "Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee." (v. 11). Immediately after His entrance into Jerusalem, Jesus threw out with authority those buying and selling in the temple, and cleansed it. What are we allowing to be bought and sold in our living temple? He healed the blind and the lame there in the temple also. Do we believe in the Miracle Worker who comes in the name of the Lord? Children again cried out in the temple of Jerusalem, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David." (v. 15). When the chief priests and scribes saw and heard these things that identified the Messiah, "...they were sore displeased," and Jesus reminded them of the identifying scripture that prophesied, "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise." (v. 16). How many signs of the timing of the Lord prophesied in scripture are Christians ignoring - feast days, lunar cycles - that testify of Christ and His return? Babes in Christ are re-discovering these things and accepting their prophetic truth, and rejoicing in them, more so than long-established Christians. After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, multitudes followed Him, meeting Him with palm branches, and crying out as He entered Jerusalem, "Hosanna: Blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord." However, the knowledgeable Pharisees, knowing what these cries and palms meant, became fearful, saying, "...behold, the world is gone after him." (Jn. 12:9-19). Not only would they seek an opportunity to kill Jesus, but also Lazarus, whom He raised. About these Pharisees, Jesus said, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." (Mt. 23:1-3). They sit in seats of religious authority, Jesus said. They know the scriptures. They understand the prophecies that have been given by God, but they themselves do not do them. Instead, they lay heavy religious burdens upon the people. They put on religious displays in clothing and custom, and love the places of honor given to them. They love being addressed as "Rabbi", while rejecting the only true Teacher and Master, which is Christ (v. 4-10). Jesus said that these practices of the scribes and Pharisees did not reflect the kingdom of God where "...he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." (v. 11-12). Jesus further said that woe would come to the scribes and Pharisees for their hypocrisy and pretence. He said that they make victims of the weak, and teach others to become children of hell and damnation, rather than children of God. (v. 13-15). Jesus called them "blind guides" (v. 24). They look clean on the outside, but inside, they are full of extortion, excess, and uncleanness (v. 25-28). He concluded speaking to them, saying, "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" (v. 33). How terrible it is if what we are showing and teaching to others, like the scribes and Pharisees, is causing them to miss God, rather than to find Him! Are we hearing and understanding in our walk what the shouts of "Hosanna: Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!", really mean? The Prophet Hosea wrote the Word of the Lord concerning God's people, and the end times: "For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days." (Hos. 3:4-5). While Jesus did not declare Himself an earthly king, the prophetic cries of Palm Sunday, and His entrance, declare His Kingship. This was yet another stumbling block for those like the scribes, chief priests, and Pharisees who were very familiar with the Kingship of the Messiah. It can also be a stumbling block for believers today. Who have we made kings in our lives? Have we made politicians, and government our kings? Many believers have followed after politicians making certain promises as one would follow a king. There is only one King, Jesus, the Son of David, the Son of God. We see again the attitude of the religious experts as Jesus was examined before Pontius Pilate. Jesus was accused before Pilate by the Jewish leaders of calling Himself the Son of God. This caused Pilate more fear, and he questioned Jesus again. Hearing His answer, Pilate sought to release Jesus, but again the Jewish religious leaders falsely said to Pilate, who had been appointed by the Roman Emperor, that Jesus had made Himself a king in opposition to Cesar. This was taking place as Passover approached. Pilate presented Jesus to the religious leaders saying, "Behold, your king...Shall I crucify your king?" But they cried out, "Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him." The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Cesar." And so Jesus was delivered to be crucified. (Jn. 19:7-16). Like those religious leaders, many, including those in the church, desire a king who will give them what they want. Many political leaders come to the church to use it for political and monetary gain. As we read in Jesus' warning earlier, there will come a point in time when the master of the house will shut the door, even as God shut the door to Noah's ark, and many will knock then, but will receive the answer, "I don't know you." Ready or Not*

When we were children, we played the game Hide and Seek. We would call out, "Ready or not, here I come!". Is the Body of Christ ready to meet Christ? Solomon wrote that no one will have power over that day: "There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those who are given to it...". (Eccl. 8:8). Solomon also wrote in this chapter that those who keep the commands of God will not suffer evil. He said that the heart of the wise discern both time and judgment, and there is both a set time and a judgment (v. 5-6). Those who think that evil is not punished quickly, set their hearts to do evil. Though a sinner's days may be prolonged, it will not go well with him because he does not fear and revere God (v. 11-12). In the days before the flood, God said that men's hearts were evil continually, and the LORD regretted that He had created man. Only the man Noah had grace with God (Gen. 6:5-8). It is the grace of God found in His Son, Jesus, that makes death but a shadow for those who believe, for we have passed from death unto life in Him. Have you found this grace with God? In the days of Noah, life went on as usual for men until Noah was shut into the ark and the earth was flooded. In the days before the total destruction of Sodom, life continued as usual for the wicked inhabitants of that city. Only Lot and his immediate family survived, because the angels pulled them out. The ashes of Sodom testify today of the day of destruction that they faced. Jesus said that the same conditions would exist before His appearing: life as "normal", and then sudden destruction (Lk. 17:26-30). Are we ready for that day? Because ready or not, He is returning. Have we silently tolerated sin, participated in it, and aided in its proliferation? God is not afraid to call sin, sin. However, we do not need to remain in sin. Paul, in listing the sins of men wrote, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Cor. 6:11). We don't have to remain in sin, and suffer the consequence of sin, death. The Apostle Jude warned of a danger to the church of believers and wrote: "...It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." (v. 3). Jude felt that the salvation faith of the saints was in danger from within the church. Ungodly men, who were ordained to condemnation from the beginning, were "turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." (v. 4). In the face of this spiritual undermining, even in the church, it is not enough to be comfortable and satisfied with your faith, but you will need to actively contend for it in order to keep it. Jude wrote that this undermining of faith in the church is the same that caused the Israelites, who had been delivered from Egypt by God, to then become filled with unbelief towards Him. This undermining caused the angels to fall, and end up in chains. It is the same underming that caused Sodom and Gomorrah to give themselves over to fornication until they could not be saved. They then became those who suffer the eternal fire (v. 5-7). The apostles felt by the Spirit the nearness of the day of reckoning. If they felt it so strongly then, how much closer is that day to us? Peter wrote: "But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things, have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins...as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." (1 Pet. 4:7-8). As Jude wrote, Peter said that there was a need for fervency regarding the faith. He also wrote that in whatever way that we speak and minister, we are to do it by the oracles and gifted abilities that God has given to each. Only these things will cause God to be glorified. (v. 11). If we suffer, we are to suffer because of our faith, not in the suffering that the sinners and evil-doers will experience: "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saived, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? ...But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy." (13-18). The Prophet Jeremiah wrote the Word of the LORD concerning the undermining of the truth, and the faith of the people of God, and again there is a comparison with the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah. The LORD said to Jeremiah: "I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of the evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah...concerning the prophets...Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land." (Jer. 23:14-15). The LORD warned not to listen to these prophets. "For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked." (v. 18-19). Those profane prophets were prophesying peace, and telling those "that walketh after the imagination of his own heart", that no evil will befall him. Jeremiah wrote about the latter days: "The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly." (v. 20). Jesus taught in a parable about a king who had prepared a wedding banquet for his son. The king saw among the guests one who was not clothed in a wedding garment. The king said: "Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless." (Mt. 22:11-12). Because that guest was not wearing a wedding garment, he was bound, taken away, and cast into outer darkness: "...there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen." (v.13-14). This parable offended the religious Pharisees, who felt they were already justified in God, and did not want to listen to anyone who said that they were not accepted by God in their own righteousness. In Jewish wedding traditions, as well as in the scripture, there are wedding garments that must be made ready. The Word of Jesus in Revelation: "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." (Rev. 16:15). And then they were gathered into the place called Armageddon (v. 16). I believe the day is near. We can understand that day as we understnd the appointed feasts of the LORD. We are coming into the season of the spring feasts now. Are we ready? *Based on Dr. Kenneth E.
